The Sound of Rani Singh


Rani is a highly accomplished radio producer and director. She originated and wrote the epic "Ramayana" for BBC R4 starring Shashi Kapoor and Saeed Jaffrey. She also commissioned and produced a series of stories from some of the best Indian writers in the world. For several years she produced and presented "Pause for Thought" on R2. she also works on R5 and for the World Service, long and short form. She was the BBC co-ordinator for the 1997 anniversary of Indo-Pakistani independence. The BBC have also recorded Rani performing her own stories complete with a variety of voices for the "Read and Listen" series of audiotapes to go with the Books which they commissioned Rani to write.

CURRENT & FUTURE RADIO


In Summer 2005 Rani joined the cast of the highly acclaimed BBC radio continuing drama series "Silver Street" as a regular character "Surinder," with an interesting,important and completely bilingual role.
