in the Asian storytelling traditionThe Singh Theatre can appear in various settings and at a wide variety of venues. No platform is required. Technical requirements are few.

The work is interactive, gentle and intimate. It is most suited to studios and indoor venues.

The Ramayana The beautiful string marionettes of Rajasthan with their exquisite detail are the main puppets used, along with rod and hand puppets sometimes. There is no backdrop or stage and the audience sits close to Rani on the floor, in the Asian storytelling tradition. Volunteers are often dressed up and take part in the adventures.

In addition to travelling to your venue Rani can offer a special service to London based groups. Class-size workshops are available in a dedicated traditional environment in West London with extras; Storytelling, songs (in Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali or Gujarati and English) dance, puppet and costume displays, and dressing up. Religious ceremonies enacted and explained. Asian elders on hand to explain traditions in English. Two minutes from Acton Central Station.
